your tight budget will go so much further at Green & Away

your participants can enjoy an experience that a hotel simply can't deliver!
Here's how we can offer you superb value, a unique experience, and VIP treatment ...

We are Europe's only tented events centre - comfortable, eco-friendly, and with all the space you need to get 50 to 140 people together under one roof for events of 1 to 5 days.
We host just one conference at a time - so your participants receive VIP treatment, because your event becomes the sole focus of our activity
See the savings you make:
2-day event for 50 people: Typical hotel venue £10,000; Green & Away from £4,300!
2-day event for 100 people: Typical hotel venue £20,000 Green & Away from £6,000!
Our prices include breakfast, lunch, evening meal, and refreshments throughout the day. These prices are for 2010 only.
Whether you are holding an event, conference, seminar, workshop, AGM, training course, team-building weekend or just a friendly get-together for a group with like-minded interests, we’d love to hear from you if you are interested in hiring our unique venue. The G & A village section of the website will give you more detail about the various facilities and features of the Green & Away site, and below is the information you, as the person organising your event or conference, will also need to know.
The meeting spaces comprise tents, domes and other low-impact structures made of recycled canvas and hazel cut in coppiced woodlands. They are decorated with wall hangings and the seating includes hay bales harvested from local fields. The facilities and range of structures we can offer is flexible, with a large main marquee (which can seat everyone) and various break-out spaces for smaller workgroups to divide into. Let us know your requirements and we will do our best to adapt our structures to suit your needs.
All food is vegetarian and organic wherever possible, with some grown on site and some from local suppliers. Bread is freshly baked on site every day; children’s meals are available; and most special diets including vegan, wheat and dairy free can be provided for – please encourage your participants, where possible, to let us know their requirements in advance.
How most events usually work is that your organisation provides the agenda and we help with a range of extras, such as providing evening entertainment or a craft-break for delegates during your conference, if you would like these. See the list below, which outlines what else is included when you book the Green & Away site. All of the following are supplied as part of the package we offer:
Help with administration and bookings. We can also dispatch information sheets about your event, transport details and confirmation of bookings to your participants if requested.
Help with discussion facilitation, if requested. We can help you find environmental speakers for seminars (see our Educational workshops section for what Green & Away itself can offer), and we also have great contacts within the Green Community to enable us to find you speakers on all sorts of other topics, too.
Environmentally sustainable working examples of low-impact technologies. We demonstrate environmental living and working in attractive natural surroundings, and participants can experience sustainable living at first hand.
A participative atmosphere where everyone eats and washes up together, and we are always grateful for offers of help from your participants to cut firewood, cook and make bread: there is no compulsion, but it’s all part of the Green & Away experience and there for the taking!
A Green & Away representative to liaise with when planning your event, and on-site coordination and help during the event, too.
A telephone line with answerphone on site, plus a few hand-powered chargers to recharge mobile phones
Flip charts and pens.
A site which is accessible by public transport, some four miles from Worcester rail and coach stations and a 10-minute walk from the bus stop. We provide full bus and train information to anyone requesting it, including maps for cyclists and motorists.
Public liability insurance.
Trained and qualified First Aiders on site throughout the conference season. All our first aiders are trained by Prometheus Medical, a small local company with huge amounts of practical trauma experience. We hope we don't have to use them!
Hot showers, heated by wood we gather and cut, and several composting loos which convert human waste into compost for non-edible plants.
Accommodation in tents, yurts and domes, if participants are unable to bring their own camping gear (sleeping spaces in these are at an extra charge of £5 per person per night, or £10 per person per night for yurts). Blankets can be supplied, but are limited, so please encourage participants to bring a sleeping bag even if they can’t bring a tent, as we cannot supply sleeping bags.
An arts and crafts area, where we can offer a range of workshops, if requested, including pewter casting and jewellry making, pole lathing and lantern making. See the Educational workshops section of the website, as this outlines all possibilities!
A children’s tent with toys and games, and activities for accompanying family members who may not necessarily be participating in the meetings/conference.
A licensed bar, selling local beer and cider, plus organic wine and soft drinks at remarkably low prices.
Evening entertainment, if requested. We can arrange any or all of the following for your event, so please discuss your requirements:
Music for evening entertainment
Campfire storyteller - when available
Sweat lodge
Fire Show
Crafts
Bar quiz
Help with organising your own cabaret evening
A warm welcome and an induction tour to familiarise everyone with the site and make you feel at home.
